Seattle residents can apply to receive Fresh Bucks vouchers; applications are accepted on a first come, first-served basis.
Residents who qualify for Fresh Bucks get monthly Fresh Bucks vouchers in the mail, from partnering community organizations and/or partnering clinics who are patients of that health provider.
Fresh Bucks vouchers are funded by the City of Seattle’s Sweetened Beverage Tax and can only be mailed to residents who live within the Seattle city limits. Use this tool to determine if you live within the City limits. Residents living in unincorporated King County do not qualify.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accept all applicants due to limited funding. If you applied to the waitlist, we will let you know if additional space is made available and automatically enroll you in the Fresh Bucks program. As of March 11, 2019, the application is now closed. We are no longer accepting applications to the waitlist.
For customers enrolled in Fresh Bucks, vouchers will be mailed to you every month. If you do not have a permanent mailing address, you can add a temporary Seattle address (such as a trusted family member or an organization that holds your mail).
If you received vouchers from a health care provider or a community organization, please contact that provider or organization to learn about getting vouchers on a monthly basis.
Looking to spend more than $10 on fruits and vegetables in one trip? No problem. You can use up to four Fresh Bucks vouchers at a time. Select at least $10 worth of fruits and vegetables to use each $10 voucher. For example, if you buy $20 of qualifying fruits and vegetables, you can use two $10 vouchers. No change is given if you spend less than the voucher value.
For customers enrolled in Fresh Bucks, your vouchers belong to you. This means your vouchers cannot be spent by others, they are non-transferrable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Lost or stolen Fresh Bucks vouchers will not be replaced. Refer to the expiration date printed on the dollars and vouchers. Once the Fresh Bucks have expired, they are no longer valid and can’t be used.
