The Fresh Bucks program helps make fruits and vegetables more affordable for households who may be struggling to afford healthy foods. Fresh Bucks can be spent at over 35 Farmers Markets and Market Stands and six Neighborhood Grocers in Seattle and King County. Find a Fresh Bucks location near you.
The Fresh Bucks program model includes the following strategies:

Fresh Bucks Match

Farmers markets, market stands, and neighborhood grocers provide a $1:$1 Fresh Bucks match to shoppers who make purchases with SNAP benefits. Fresh Bucks currency can be used at any participating farmers market, farm stand, or neighborhood grocery store. Fresh Bucks can be used as full or partial payment (in addition to other currency such as cash or EBT tokens). No change will be given for Fresh Bucks.

Fresh Bucks at the Farmers Markets

At participating farmers markets and farm stands, EBT cardholders debit their card for the amount of EBT they wish to spend that day (e.g., $12). Market staff will then give them EBT tokens in that value ($12) and that same value in matching Fresh Bucks currency ($12). EBT tokens can be used to purchase EBT-eligible items. Fresh Bucks can be used to purchase fresh, frozen, canned and dried fruits and vegetables (with no added salts, fats, and/or sugars).
